They say your wedding day should be one of the happiest days of your life. And for some, that includes elaborate costumes, coffins and scorpions. Here, "Star War"s fanatics Duncan Thompson and Sammi Gardiner donned their respective Han Solo and Princess Leia costumes to tie the knot on the Isle of Wight, England, on...wait for it...May 4th ("May the Fourth Be With You").

Three couples had an unusual air and sea wedding in Qingdao, northern China's Shandong Province on June 13, 2011. The couples first took to the sea in several speed boats before hooking themselves into three twin paragliders. Once in the air they exchanged rings and vows. Bride Song Xiaolu said, "We all live in the same community and we were good friends since kindergarten". Despite this, the couples said, they never expected to marry each other and didn't develop feelings for one other until they all attended the same university.

A couple made sure they got noticed on their wedding day by traveling to the venue in a procession of earth excavators through the streets of Pingdingshan, central China's Henan Province. Groom Zhang Zongqiang and his bride-to-be traveled in style at the head of the convoy, standing in the bucket of the first excavator. All of the six vehicles were decorated with colorful ribbons and balloons, like parade floats, and attracted a lot of attention from passers-by. Zongqiang works in a local heavy machinery company doing sales and servicing and fixing the machines. He thought it would be a great idea to use the excavators as wedding cars.
