Alexander Pieter Cirk from Netherlands came to China to meet his girlfriend Zhang who he met online. But, sadly, she didn’t show up…for 10 days. And after that he had to be hospitalized for exhaustion. Cirk suffers from diabetes and I guess eating only airport food and sleeping in an uncomfortable chair for 10 days didn’t really help his blood sugar.
You would probably think what an idiot he had to be to come all the way there to being stood up by his online “girlfriend. “ Well, it has a legit explanation. Zhang said they didn’t really talked this over and the only proof that he was coming to China was the photo of some airplane tickets he sent her. He didn’t contact her later, so naturally, she thought it was a joke. Plus when he arrived Zhang was out of town, having plastic surgery treatment on her face, so her phone was turned off for those ten days. That’s what I call a miscommunication.
