Golfer Tiger Woods has been arrested near his Florida home after he was seen "driving erratically, all over the road" in the early hours of the morning. He was charged with driving under the influence and spent nearly four hours in a county jail before being released.

Don McLean, the American singer-songwriter who had a worldwide hit with American Pie, was charged with domestic violence after police were called to his house in the early hours of the morning. Officers arrested him at his home in Camden in Maine before taking him to a local jail, where he was charged with assault.

Shia LaBeouf found himself in trouble with the law after being arrested in Texas on suspicion of public intoxication, despite past treatment for alcoholism. The actor is no stranger to a police station having pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct after he disturbed a performance of 'Cabaret' in New York. Shia was arrested over a bar fight in Los Angeles in 2011, but charges were never brought. He was however arrested on criminal trespassing charges for refusing to leave a Walgreens store at 2am back in 2007.

Actor Emile Hirsch served 15 days in jail after the 'Into the Wild' star pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge for putting a female movie executive in a headlock during a film festival, a court official said. Hirsch had initially faced a felony count of aggravated assault related to the attack on Daniele Bernfeld, which took place at the Tao nightclub in Park City, Utah, during the Sundance Film Festival.

Former child actor Jake Lloyd, aka Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, has been arrested after an alleged high-speed car chase. The star, who now goes by the name Jake Broadbent, 26, was allegedly driving wildly near Charleston, South Carolina when police spotted him and attempted to pull him over. According to the local sheriff's department the fantasy flick hero refused to stop and cops were forced to pursue him at high speed for 25 miles. Lloyd then allegedly careered through a fence and into an area of woodland before finally grinding to a halt. He was arrested on charges of reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest and driving without a license. The chase reportedly lasted about 20 minutes and Lloyd was held on a $10,700 bail.

Vanilla Ice (aka Robert VanWinkle) was arrested in Lantana, Florida. The rapper turned home improvement reality TV star was arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft from a property near a house he was working on in the town of Lantana, Florida. Police say that some of the stolen items, including furniture and bicycles, were found at his home.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation have released a photo of former music producer Phil Spector at the Health Care Facility in Stockton, California. The photo shows the toll of age and prison on the once flamboyant music legend. The photo on the right shows Spector during his trial. He is serving 19 years to life for the 2003 killing of actress Lana Clarkson.

Pop star Bruno Mars was arrested in September 2010 after police found him in possession of 2.6 grams of cocaine after a Las Vegas nightclub performance. The 25-year-old Grammy nominee Mars, real name Peter Hernandez, made an appearance before a Las Vegas judge on a plea deal that could get him dismissal of the drug charge. The deal is for him to plead guilty as a first offender to a charge that will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for a year, completes community service and drug counseling, and pays a $2,000 fine

During a court appearance two drug-related charges were dismissed and McConaughey faced only a charge of resisting transportation, a misdemeanour. He was released on $1,000 bond
