A teacher in the United Kingdom decided to pull a Grinch and tell her students that Santa didn’t exist. Needless to say, many parents were upset. The principal had the teacher fired for ruining all the kids’ hopes and dreams. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but she was dismissed from her job.

Whether real or a bad joke, a teacher attached McDonald’s job applications to all failing test papers. Talk about pouring salt on the wound. No word on how parents, students, or McDonald’s workers reacted.

Because a fifth-grade student in New Jersey accidentally dropped water on the floor, a vice principal of his school forced him and fourteen other students to eat off of the floor. All this while the other students taunted them. Their teacher was fired after she encouraged students to tell their parents what was going on; she was given a settlement of $75,000. Fortunately, seven of the children also filed a lawsuit and won. The vice principal transferred to another school.

One Redditor claimed in his math class he had a teacher that didn’t teach math. He wrote problems on the board from the textbook and went to his desk to play video games on his computer. He never checked the answers on any of the students’ work and always wrote 100%. Worst of all, the student was moved up to Algebra from Pre-Algebra but had no idea what he was doing.

According to a Redditor, when a student continued to be belligerent to his teacher, she eventually lost it, put him in a choke hold, and threw him out of the classroom. She was fired the next day.

In Southern California, Tonya Neff came into class and started teaching while intoxicated. After being discovered by school administrators that she was drunk, she was taken to the nurse and quickly arrested. She faced possible felony charges for child endangerment.

According to another Redditor, their German class got a substitute teacher one day who was very quiet and couldn’t control the class. The class became very rowdy and loud but the substitute teacher kept writing translations and trying to talk over the noise. After fifteen minutes, the teacher just made scribbles on the chalkboard and mumbled. Then, she threw a pen on the ground and stormed out. She was found huddled up into a ball under a desk, crying.

A teacher in Colorado was put on leave when it was discovered she taped her eighth grade student’s mouth shut during class. While it may be a struggle to get students to be quiet, putting tape on their mouths is totally not the answer.

While attending a school employee party, many people began to feel ill and were rushed to the hospital. Turns out, Teresa Gilmete Badger, an elementary school teacher, brought marijuana-laced food to the potluck and was arrested for potential poisoning.

Andrea Cardosa, a former teacher at a Riverside Elementary in California, was arrested for having sexually abused two students. After one of the students confronted Cardosa about it and recorded it on her phone, the authorities got involved and Cardosa was put in jail. At the time of the trial, she faced a potential ten years for her crimes.
