Ibo Omari is a German activist who, through his NGO Die kulturellen Erben (The Cultural Heritage) has started Paintback, a campaign to turn hateful symbols and slogans on the streets into something fun and artistic.
Made by an artist Caralyn Edwards-Tucker, these creations started to appear almost a decade ago. Back then they were made from an air-drying clay, and now it’s polymer clay instead, with the whole thing developing into art business by the name of “Mystic Reflections”.
As Ahmet Cambaz, a former Turkish cartoonist, who switched to tattooing some 4 years ago proves to us. His tattoos are micro style, geometric, and direct to complement our modern age where we need everything to be simpler.
