Comiket otherwise known as the Comic Market is the world's largest self-published comic book fair, held twice a year in Tokyo, Japan. It is a grassroots, DIY effort for selling dojinshi, self-published Japanese works. As items sold in Comiket are considered very rare (because dojinshi are seldom reprinted), some items sold at Comiket can be found in shops or on the Internet at prices up to 10 times the item's original price. But the best part of Comiket is the pretty girls that come there in sexy costumes.
Cosplay is a Japanese type of representation when people dress in hand-made or well designed costumes of different characters. As a rule, these are heroes of various Japanese and East Asian comics and print cartoons, graphic novels, video games and fantasy movies. Cosplays have reached China, and today more and more young people join this movement in order to stand out from the crowd and look different. Of course, these cosplays look a bit clumsy, but for the beginners such costumes are not bad at all.
Here are some fans of video games who came in costumes to celebrate gamer culture at the PAX. As usual, some of the cosplays are real good and others… well, you know.
