He has accumulated over 70 cubic metres of trash: 1,600 milk bottles, 4,800 toilet rolls, and 800 kg of newspapers to then create a powerful series of photos just to show how massive our consumerism is.

Photographer Doug Battenhausen has a thing for the Internet’s lost pictures. He goes through archives and abandoned accounts to hunt down amateur pictures that captured unusual moments, and collects them on his “Internet History” blog. He is only interested in pictures that can stir an emotion, usually sadness. Collecting such photos feels to him like “giving a second life to orphan”. Here are some photos from Doug’s collection.

These people came up with a very interesting idea. Half of their face when they were children was photographically combined to the other half as adults. You can really see how some people have changed and others haven’t. But a lot of pictures look really creepy, it makes me think of Frankenstein...

Potholes as You Have Never Imagined Them Before (16 pics)

Posted in PICTURES       23 Dec 2009       9056
This is a very interesting photo project by Claudia Ficca and Davide Luciano.
Their project is simple and at the same time very creative and ingenious. They imagined a pothole as a “scene” from life. For example, a pothole where a woman make her laundry or a pothole as a swimming pool. They bring several gallons of water and other stuff to set their scenes. Claudia and Davide also try to add a comic and humoristic touch to the pictures.
