Vernon C. Bain Correctional Center is a huge prison barge that can hold up to 800 inmates. It has 16 dormitories and 100 cells. The barge was built for in 1992 for $161 million in order to reduce overcrowding in New York prisons and has served as a part of the city's prison complex at Rikers Island since then.

Victoria amazornica is the largest genus of water lilies in the world. It floats in the shallow waters of the Amazon River basin. Its leaves reach up to 3 m in diameter. They can support up to 70 pounds. This giant water lily was called Victoria regia after Queen Victoria of the UK when it was discovered by explorer Robert Schomburgk in 1836.
This giant portrait was created by Jorge Rodriguez Gerada, a Cuban-American contemporary artist.
This portrait is one of his terrestrial series which means that he’s working at a scale large enough to allow his images to be seen from space. I can only imagine the incredible amount of efforts put into this artwork.
