They can support up to 70 pounds. This giant water lily was called Victoria regia after Queen Victoria of the UK when it was discovered by explorer Robert Schomburgk in 1836.

Miners in Mexico accidently stumbled across a cave of giant crystals buried 300 meters below the Naica Mountain in the Chihuahuan Desert. Referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of crystals”, the cave has the largest known natural crystals measuring 15 meters in length, 1.2 meters in diameter and weighing up to 55 tons.

This giant portrait was created by Jorge Rodriguez Gerada, a Cuban-American contemporary artist.

This portrait is one of his terrestrial series which means that he’s working at a scale large enough to allow his images to be seen from space. I can only imagine the incredible amount of efforts put into this artwork.

These plush dolls look like common microbes. All the different microbes are there from the brain to sperm. Although they are rather cute and cuddly, I suppose the only kids who would be interested in them are those who want to become doctors or scientists.
