I assume no one will believe me but I make a large portion of the parts that go into Boston Dynamics Robots. They make some awesome stuff. Check out Rhex.

Rhex is cool in that it doesn't use any familiar method of mobility. It is a bit more logical in movement - although still clumsy to any extent (to play devil's advocate)... but still effective. It's a cool illustration of logical progression of "robot-ism" in comparison to the evolution of "x"-pedal lifeforms, and to combine Rhex with the Sand Flea: You have a scary search/recon device on your hands that would be pretty useful today.

I love it.
