#3 Here is our bill after giving birth in Norway:
Birth, all included:
4 days in hospital: 0.-
Emergency circumcision: 0,
All medicine and care: 0,-
Dad sleeps at hospital 7 days: 0,-
Dad 2 weeks of with pay after birth: 0-,
Leave from work fully paid 48 weeks (divided between parents): 0,-
For all people in Norway
Total, giving birth: 0,-

Go `murica! (not!)

That was 4 days before, and 7 days after birth, just to clarify.

Vickie,

Problem with the US is taxpayer funded healthcare (nothing is free) is given to people who can but refuse to work, and people who came here illegally. That's only part of the problem. No PC here just facts most don't want to hear.

Clo, No one said it was free. But Norway's healthcare is about a third less per person than the US. Any no one goes bankrupt because the cost per person is fixed, and far less than the cost in the US. The US system is not only stupidly expensive, it grossly inefficient.

Athy,
In Hungary, all medical care is free, if you pay the tax.
Childbirth for us cost only a few tips to the staff

Clo,

Also the amount of the bill is extremly high. Healthcare in the US is much more expensive than in other countries with comparable (or even better) service.
One reason is the very high costs for "legal protection" because the extrem costs of legal cases and lawyers

#5. Bill Nye is a failed comedian, not a scientist. He just plays one on TV.

I found this bill on Pinterest and I don't know its relevance? But in my country, Denmark we have a (tax-paid-for) Free Public Health Insurance that cowers all but some medicine for most people, and I find this much more assuring than having to buy dubious insurances for a high price! sm_80

Norway does have one of the highest costs of living around. There's always a trade off somewhere.

All of the facts are true, the soviets called him "White death". In finnland he was after the war a honored peacefull man and hero. Many of finnland people wished him to be president.

I don't see the bill for the obstetrician that actually performed the delivery.. was that billed separately? did the mother get an epidural? I don't see an anesthesiologist listed either...
