Poutine

French fries + cheese curds + gravy = paradise. Thin, thick, curly... it doesn't matter. As long as your fries are drizzled with loads of melted cheese curds and ladles of rich gravy, you're in for a treat!

Nanaimo Bars

Named after one of Canada's most charming cities, this melt-in-your-mouth treat made of biscuit crumbs, custard cream, and chocolate ganache is truly one-of-a-kind!

Ketchup Chips

These crisps of tangy deliciousness are one of those nostalgic junk foods you won't ever stop thinking of! You dip your fries in ketchup, so why not sprinkle ketchup seasoning on your chips?

Timbits

These tiny balls of heaven are definitely a Canadian staple! There’s nothing more satisfying than decadent doughnut holes from good ol' Tim Hortons! Personal recommendation: Birthday Cake Timbits! A true game changer!

Montreal Bagels

Yes, there is a difference between New York bagels and Montreal bagels! Montreal-style is boiled in water with honey, thus it is a little sweeter than New York-style. The biggest difference, however, is that Montreal bagels are baked in wood-fired ovens, giving them a crunchier crust. YUM YUM YUM!

Montreal-Style Smoked Meat

Salted and cured beef brisket stuffed in between slices of warm rye bread, this smoky goodness will hit you right in the feels!

Butter Tarts

The quintessential Canadian dessert. This delicate, flaky pastry filled with rich, buttery caramel is 100% a must-try!

Coffee Crisp

This Canadian snack bar is an absolute treat! Mocha-flavored wafer coated in luscious milk chocolate? Sounds like the perfect substitute to a cup of caffeine or a bar of chocolate to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Pouding Chômeur

This French Canadian dessert was created by female factory workers during the Great Depression in Quebec, Canada. This delightful cake featuring hot maple caramel is proof that less is more! A few basic ingredients is enough to make a simply irresistible dessert!

And last but not least, Beaver Tails

No *actual* beavers are harmed in the making of this Canadian favorite! The original version of this scrumptious treat is basically a deep-fried, tail-shaped pastry topped with buttery cinnamon sugar. As its popularity grew, so did the variety! Beaver Tails can now be topped with everything from chocolate peanut butter to apple pie. Hot, gooey piles of deliciousness ― what more can you ask for?

I still don't get poutine. I'm Belgian and we eat something about the same but way better. Stoofvlees (meat stew with beer) with fries, salad and mayonaise. Look it up. It even looks better
