Recently, Mathieu posted a series of TikToks where he reveals what goes through his head when he’s working a runway
The clips have already generated over 10 million views, providing a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of the fashion world
Mathieu said he was discovered at a music festival called Veld in Toronto when his mother agent simply came up to him and asked if he was represented. Mathieu said no and he gave him his card. “I was a little skeptical at first since I’d never thought I could be a model. Since I wasn’t living in Toronto at the time, it took six months for me to meet up with him and do a test shoot,” Mathieu recalled.
“I debuted for Calvin Klein W205 as an exclusive for the show,” one of TikTok’s most favorite models said. “It was insane, as the first thing that I did, everything blew me away. The walk, the set, the crowd, the cameras, hair and makeup teams were everywhere, I was taken aback. What amplified this was the fact that CK205 was such a huge show, celebrities were there and all the hype surrounding the collection was crazy.”
His favorite modeling experience was Valentino Tokyo. “It was my first time in Asia and I absolutely loved it, the flight was pretty tough but once I got there, I was amazed,” Mathieu said. “The city is so beautiful and the shopping is next level.”
Modeling aside, Mathieu loves basketball—it’s his favorite sport. He also can’t live without his phone, and he loves going to parties.
Runway model Iana Korenkova thinks the most important thing during a catwalk is to “feel” your outfit and the style and present it to the public the way it could be memorized. Looks like Mathieu is definitely feeling it!
