Or republicans, or any political, social, religious, medical, "Im right" or "don't do" group that makes people feel special with a label and title to back it up in their minds. But NONE have to do with physical reality human don't self-perpetuate.

Not US independence... thats when the brits switched to metric. The US teaches both so technically we are bi-measure, and can do both. Plus the US uses everyone's measurement system.
