“Solitary confinement was first instituted by the Quakers in the 1700s. The idea was that the confined would only have his own thoughts to keep him company, and thus the prisoner would come out of confinement born again and reformed . In actual fact, such prisoners were driven insane by the isolation and frequently killed or mutilated themselves, or became so violently paranoid that they were never able to rejoin society. The tragic irony is that this started as a more humane alternative to the death penalty”
"If a biological trait is common in almost every human, then it evolved for a reason. Almost everybody has the same response to the “uncanny valley,” or in other words we are made uncomfortable by things that look almost human but not quite. I don’t know if I’ve ever been within 3 meters of a rat.
I question this one too. Mice (and chipmunks) certainly but where I am rats aren't really that common.
Yeah, it's supposed to be a spider within 10 ft (totally accurate), but many places don't have rats or mice. In Alaska it's Voles not mice.
#10 Which has been happening throughout the ages. I am sure that during the black death there were many who were saying now is not the time for children. When infant mortality rates were 50% and above, I am sure many were saying it is not the time for children. For some it will never be time, resources, etc.. Yet we keep marching on as a species to the chagrin of people of a certain mindset.

#25 Wow. 6 minutes to live unless someone starts CPR on you and being aware of it. I've done CPR on thousands of people during my military and medical career and I cannot imagine being the recipient of actual effective CPR being done on me. Most times we crack the sternum by doing chest compressions. Manual ventilation must be uncomfortable and I am not even going to go into being intubated.
#16 An Irukandji sting cause this too.
