There simply has to be a better, not to mention safer, way to get your big screen television home.
If you have a little troubled water, there is no need to turn to Simon and Garfunkel, Cecil County in Maryland may have just the bridge for you. It seems that the historic bridge that crosses over Little Elm Creek near Childs on Route 545 in Maryland is too narrow by Federal Highway Standards. Built in 1932 by the Roanoke Iron and Steel Company, the steel Warren Style pony truss bridge concrete abutments, is 97 feet long, but it is only 27 feet wide from curb to curb, and that is 5 feet short of the Federal requirements of 32 feet for bridges that have more than 5000 vehicles a day traveling over them.
Kids absolutely hate snowsuits. They are uncomfortable and they make it very difficult to go to the bathroom. However, parents seem to love them. This makes for some very unhappy children.
Here’s how protesters protect themselves from stray and direct hits of rocks.
These “helmets” can’t be called very efficient and safe…
The baby tastes it for first time and the reaction is priceless.
Leave it to the Japanese! Instead of appealing to your good sense that smoking is going to kill you and those around you - They decide to warn you of other ways that smoking is detrimental. Like, littering, making your child's snowman ugly, and stinking the joint up. Not sure any of those reasons would make me quit smoking for good, actually I'm not sure these signs would make me want to do anything except light another one.
Mother Nature proves yet again that she still has a few breathtaking tricks up her sleeve in these mind boggling pictures of a volcano making smoke circles against a clear blue sky. Prepare to scratch your head in amazement.
Some people have way too much time on their hands, but we get the benefits with all the creative products that they have produced for us to enjoy.
Chechnya had 2 wars in the last 20 years there is how Grozny, the capital of Chechnya looked like before these wars. But today, the city looks quite different.
HDR photography outdid themselves with these amazing pictures of the world. Some of them look like you took a crayon and colored in details with fluorescent colors. It's amazing to me that even if I saw something like this, I'd be too gobsmacked to actually think to take a picture.
The “Munsters” would love attending any of these gothic themed weddings. Each one is different, yet they all hold a dark gothic theme.

Don’t cross Eric Jacqmain or he’ll vaporize you in a New York minute. The Indiana based teenager is the genius brain behind the R5800 solar “death ray”. Made up of 5,800 tiny mirror tiles covering an ordinary fiberglass satellite dish, this killer weapon is just 42 inches and generates enough power to melt steel, vaporize aluminum, boil concrete, turn dirt into lava and obliterate any organic material in an instant. The death ray is so good at vaporizing objects; it met its own demise in a shed fire it started. And now the budding inventor is back to the drawing board working on an even more powerful alternative. Perhaps whoever coined the term “weapons of mass destruction” was thinking about this kid.
A great project by the Belgian TV channel Prime to feature the TV shows. An original mise-en-scène in the form of little plastic figurines, each representing a set and the universe of a TV show.
Among others, you'll recognize Californication, Mad Men, Six Feet Under and Lost.
These are aerial photos of stadiums from all around the world. It is absolutely amazing what man has built just to play some games. However, the photos are incredible and beautiful. The stadium’s seating capacity is also amazing.

This dark elf’s costume is pretty neat. However, it is rather scary looking.
I am sure whoever wears it next Halloween will be a big hit.
This is the world’s largest mammoth cave and the bottom is out of sight. There are jungles inside it. The roof of the cave fell in and let sunlight in and all kinds of vegetation soon followed. It is one of twenty caves that have been found in Vietnam.
All these photo portraits have one thing in common. They are part of the project “Echoism” that focuses on facial symmetry. The subjects were pictured front to carema. As a part of the study, they were asked not to express emotions. Then each photograph was split into a left and a right section with one side to be horizontally flipped, afterwards pictures were recombined to create two separate and symmetrical identities of the person.
These are some of the best nature photographs that I have ever seen. They were taken by NGC photographer Robert B. Hass, a photographer for the National Geographic Channel. He captures the mystique and grandeur of the Earth’s continents from an aerial perspective.
Meanwhile, the snow continues to sweep the USA. This 2011 blizzaster is the largest snow storm in decades.
