These pictures are taken from "How to Photograph an Atomic Bomb" book by Peter Kuran.
As you already know it, if you didn’t skip history classes, hundreds of nuclear bombs were detonated in the United States between 1945 and 1962.
Due to the violence and dangerousness of those bombs, it was no easy task to take photographs of the explosions and yet there were photographs crazy enough to capture them.
For those who are afraid to get a sunburn.

This bear attacked the wrong cows. In fact, there were too many of them…
Our site visitor has sent us this link to the original photos from the Civil War. We thank GOODSTUFF a lot, because now we all can take a look at the past by going through this amazing black and white photo gallery.
Seeing the works created by Italian artist Fabrizio Corneli at night time or during overcast, you will think that these are just formless metal objects attached to the wall for some unknown reason. But as soon as the sun comes out or somebody lights the lamps, his installations become real masterpieces and reveal mysterious magic through the plays of lights and shades.
Connecting the dots seems to be a fun way for the author to pass the time. From the basic image, he can make the image appear in various situations. Some are quite obvious, some are not, and some are naughty.
If some stupid decisions were avoided.
These maps are an interesting project that was developed by Eric Fischer. The maps show the population of various American cities by race and ethnicity, which are color-coded. Here’s what the colors stand for: Orange represent Hispanic population, Red is White, Blue is Black, green – Asian, Grey is other and each dot represents 25 people.. Really interesting and informative.

Some numbers on George Lucas' empire and how much money the Star Wars brought him.
This is a new death chamber at San Quentin where the condemned are put to death by lethal injection. Regardless if you believe in the death penalty or not, you have to admit that it is very impressive. But the kind of impression I never want to see.
The detail and beauty of these photos are absolutely stunning. Although they are mostly in black and white, they leave nothing to the imagination. The photographer Holger Droste is truly an artist.

There’s a lot of Fail and Win pictures on the Internet, we mostly focus on fails ‘cause, let’s be honest, failing can be very hilarious… but let’s see today for a change the best of the Win pictures!
Don’t you feel like somebody is watching you? Find out who is spying on you.
It’s not that difficult to draw a famous face. Real challenge is to capture the person’s character and not just the likeness, especially in a caricature. But these ones created by Jason Seiler are simply amazing where he managed to show their real characters.

These sandwiches have to be some of the strangest ever made. Not that they wouldn’t necessarily be good. With these sandwiches you get your meal and your desert all rolled into one. Not so good for those watching their weight I wouldn’t think.
Somebody has posted this photograph of Leighton Meester (known as Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl) posing for the camera in his blog. Another person decided to make a joke out of it and posted another picture that is way funnier. See more after the jump.
The clothes on the people in these photos tell a story all by themselves. Most are rebellious and all show what the person wearing is loyal to. There were taken by photographer Susan A. Barnett. She believes that you can tell a lot about a person by what they wear. I think she is right.
Gene Simmons and they guy in these photos have one thing in common: an amazingly long tongue. You’ll see some tricks he can do with it. He probably has no trouble getting dates.

The Chinese noodles in this post are rather disgusting. They have some extra meat in them. I suppose that some people might appreciate the extra protein but I doubt that the health inspector would. Imagine opening up a cup of Chinese noodle to find this surprise waiting for you.
You all heard about the Chernobyl tragedy, a nuclear accident that transformed the closest town of the power plant into a ghost town. If you ever played Call of Duty or STALKER then you definitely heard of it. The town is called Pripyat and little by little, it becomes a tourist attraction. 24 years after the explosion, people actually go visit this place. But the authorities decided to take this place to another level. Apparently, they want to turn the Zone of Alienation into a giant museum park. There is still a lot of radiation in there. I can already imagine a sign over an amusement park in Pripyat: “Welcome to the Pripyat Amusement Park, because it’s better to die with a smile”
Do you remember the idea of the ‘Acrylic People’? It is when people are covered in acrylic painting but look like a part of a painting itself.
Check out a new collection of ‘living paintings’.
