The New South Wales police department took over 2500 photographs of its inmates between the years of 1910 and 1930. Here are some images from the collection as well as the stories that go with them.
These photos were taken by Leon Borensztein during the years 1979-1989.
Since color photography was not invented until the ‘80s, vintage photos lack a certain amount of vibrancy.

These images record a significant period in history and are made up of 40 Union and 20 Confederate pictures.
