Its one of those cheaply made drug sub's they use to smuggle drugs into the country. Do a search and you'll see plenty of these rounded up by the Coast Guard and Navy.

I thought about that. But isn't this one a little too detailed for such a job? I find it hard to believe drug-smugglers went to so much trouble to make it look good. Cuz it looks fantastic Looks more like a movie prop to me.
its a 45' model of the u-571 made for the movie by the same name.. according to the u-571 website there were 5 of them made to simulate the real submarine diving and blowing up.
