Spooky Vintage Ads (18 pics)

Those who dislike nowadays ads and commercials have never seen a vintage ad of the 50-s. The kids from the posters, supposed to look cute, are absolutely spooky! I dare say parents used to terrify their disobedient children with those ad pictures. And one more thing I wonder about - did the companies make any profit with those ads?!

So, ladies, to recap: store-test your coffee or we beat you, Lysol yourselves down there or we lock ourselves in our room, and gleefully accept blown cigar smoke in your face. Follow that and everything else is cream cheese.

... blast from the past...
We just see the commercial attitude of shown time and call it history :D
Encouraging to smoke (heard that it was just the way tobacco companies operated), eat high-cholesterol foods (so unusual and almost rude in our times) - it looks so typical for the time shown.

Some of these are government info posters, rather than corporate advertising, from the second world warWhich took place in the 1940's not 1950's.
