Posted in Pictures   3 Nov 2010   / 11095 views

“Paris vs New York, a tally of two cities”, this is the series of posters about Paris and New York, comparing the two cities. Here’s what the author wrote about his work: “A friendly visual match between those two cities, as seen by a Parisian-based-lover on New York's details, clichés and contradictions.”

(I'll try but I'm not English !)
1) already in English
2) sit on the terrace of a coffee-house (bistro)
3) Winter in Paris
(NB : yes but 0°C in Paris vs -20°C in NY :oD )
4) the ticket
(NB : people don't have this ticket anymore, except tourists who use it. People have a magnetic badge)
5) service included
(NB : it's 15% but you can give a tip)
6) espace vert = urban park / respire = breathe
7) same sentence
8) same sentence
9) pigeon from Paris (flying rat)
10) baguette (+ semi-salted butter)
11 / 12 ) OK
13) Freestone (buildings style wished by the baron Hausmann)
14) same sentence
15) a macaron is a small cake. Ladurée is the most famous tearoom (left side of the avenue of Champs-Elysées)
16) no translation required.
(NB : it's the "spire" of the Holy Chapel, not Notre-Dame-de-Paris cathedral !! pffff !)
Sorry for my English !

Nope, it's EXPRESSO man... This is the correct french word.

You must be some retarded italian to write this and think your spelling is the only one.

Kind of odd that he switches between french and english translations, would have made more sense to keep it one way (I would say translate the NY side to french and the french side to english)

Good to know we have French people who don't actually know national monuments:

(NB : it's the "spire" of the Holy Chapel, not Notre-Dame-de-Paris cathedral !! pffff !)

This is actually a spire of Notre-Dame de Paris. Try to look at the building from different angles next time:

Sorry ?
Search "sainte chapelle" on the web. (I'm not registered, I can't paste a link :oP )
If you would show this picture to a Parisian, he never tell you it's the cathedral. I live in Paris... What is know in the cathedral is the two bell towers, not the spire.
really :)
