I really don't understand why one should refer to the German translation. Maybe it is to make the post more acceptable in the US - it is "them", not "us" (/US), publishing such gross books. The "Banned Books: 2007 Resource Guide" spends 3/4 of a full page to list the challenges this book has been subject to.

The only people that defend homosexuality are faggots & lesbians or the family members of them.
Queers used to be imprisoned and killed simply for being queer. Their lifestyles were considered deviant by everyone but them. Then they got organized.

I have to strongly agree with Mr Ree and if the fruitcake thinks he is still in the closet, it's a big damm closet. I really don't care who is banging who and when because it's none of my business. What if its wrong? Then should we teach kids about how normal it is? Just because something is becoming more open and societally accepted doesn't mean its something we ought to embrace; just ask the antebellum US South or Germany in the 1930s.
