Preparing for the Olympics is not an easy task and demands a lot of sacrifice, commitment and effort. And it makes it even harder as Team USA athletes are not financially supported by the U.S. government. Only few of them are able to get endorsement deals or pro leagues, most of them make nearly nothing. So, to put some of these financial worries away, Dick's Sporting Goods stepped up and gave hundreds of Olympic hopefuls a program to sponsor those who need it the most.
Harmony of the Seas, an Oasis-class cruise ship, was delivered last Sunday and is ready to set sail. With a gross tonnage of 227,700 GT, she is the largest cruise ship ever built, surpassing her older sisters Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas by some 2,000 gross tons, as well as 2.15 metres (7.1 ft) in length. It was constructed at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France where thousands people gathered to see her off and now she's on her way to Southampton, England.
This isolated tribe is living on North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean and doesn’t want to have any contact whatsoever with modern society and is very hostile to strangers. They didn’t develop agriculture and live off hunting and gathering like all humans did before developing agriculture thousands of years ago. Very few photos of them that exist were taken far from shore or from the air as they greet everyone with arrows. Unlike other isolated tribes that are hidden away like those in the Amazon Rainforest, this tribe, called the Sentinelese, has been known to us for centuries, but they have always rejected any contact with us.
La Compagnie is a French airline based at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris which offers all-business class flights from Paris and London to New York only. That’s right there’re only 3 destinations but apparently, their prices are unbeatable comparing to the premium economy and business-class prices on all other airlines.
The airline's aircraft are equipped with an all-business class cabin with 74 seats that convert to angled flat beds. Food is served in a two-course meal. Inflight entertainment is provided on tablet devices. La Compagnie uses contract lounges for its passengers
Here’s what it’s like to fly La Compagnie:
These photos show four blocks of dormitory complex near Shanghai that housed factory workers employed by Apple contractor Pegatron, a Taiwanese electronics giant, until they were abandoned in a hurry some eight weeks ago. Apart from staff’s bad and austere living conditions their salaries were ridiculous. Their basic salaries were just under £250 ($360) a month for working six day per week and 12-hour shifts. They could increase their salaries by about £200 ($287) by working daily overtime. It is not the first time that Pegatron Corporation was criticized for putting their employees into inhumane working conditions. In December 2014 a BBC investigation exposed poor working conditions and employee mistreatment at Pegatron factories making Apple products. As you can see through these pictures, nothing much has changed. Take a look.
