#5 *If* this works at all, which I have never seen, it will give you an extra day or so. Maybe. I eat 3 or 4 bananas a day, at literally all stages of ripeness, from partly green to brown like molasses. I've never seen this make any meaningful difference.
#9 Clearly, some idiot suggested this. Produce becomes limp when it loses moisture. Putting a dry paper towel in with it will only make things worse, because the paper towel will absorb still more moisture out of the produce. ...Put a damp (but not dripping wet) paper towel in; it will keep the produce from drying out and becoming limp. I know; I do this every single day of my life.
#10 Or just use another piece of the egg shell - which again is still in your hand. Like people have been doing for thousands of years.
