MYTH: There is no gravity in space.
Gravity is everywhere. It’s the reason why there are orbits around planets, it’s the reason there are solar systems, and it’s the reason there are galaxies. The further away you are from a planet, the less gravity you feel- but it’s still there.
MYTH: Lightning never strikes the same place twice.
While rare, it’s not impossible and certainly not unheard of. The Empire State Building gets struck by lightning upwards of 25 times a year. There are even instances of people being hit by lightning twice– granted they probably weren’t standing around in the same spot. Still crazy though.
MYTH: An asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs.
This is only 75% true, because about 75% of all dinosaurs on earth died after the big bad boy hit us. The other 25% survived, evolved, and are still around today in the form of sharks, birds, and crocodiles.
MYTH: Doing crunches will give you a flat stomach.
Crunches, and other ab exercises, will definitely make your core stronger, which is great, but the only thing that will give you a flat stomach is lowering your body fat percentage. Lowering your BFP and doing ab workouts will give you the stomach you desire.
MYTH: The 5 second rule
This one is a classic, and I think we’re all smart enough now to know that we don’t REALLY believe in it. Does that stop us from dusting off the cookie we dropped and then eating it? Hell no. The truth is that there are a ton of germs on the floor that immediately stick to whatever you drop on it.
MYTH: There’s a dye in pool water that detects urine.
There is no such thing as a urine detecting dye, at least not at the pool. However, that chlorine smell that’s super prominent? That’s the result of urine mixed with the chlorine.
MYTH: Touching a toad will give you warts.
Warts can only be caused by human viruses. The myth likely started because of the fact that lots of toads are covered in wart-like bumps, which are simply just glands.
MYTH: Penguins fall backward when they look up at airplanes.
While hilarious and absolutely adorable, scientists have found that penguins, while awkward, are able to maintain their footing quite well while looking up.
MYTH: Opossums hang by their tails.
While babies do have this ability, adults are far too heavy to be able to do this for more than a second or two. Survival wise, there’s zero reason for them to even be able to do this.
MYTH: If you touch a baby bird with your bare hands, its mother will reject it.
It is often said that if you found a baby bird and returned it to its nest, the mother would smell that you touched it and then reject it. This simply is not true. Most animals have very strong bonds with their babies and would rarely leave them behind.
MYTH: Bananas grow on trees.
Although banana trees look like trees, they’re actually giant herbs. WHAT?!
MYTH: Peanuts are a type of nut.
I mean, jeeze, not helping much with the name there. The truth is that peanuts are actually a type of legume.
F@#s who is the idiot writing this sh#t over and over again
An other popular myth: Izimile is a valid source of information.
Cry me a river, you poor man. Words can´t describe the pain and agony you have to go through.
So ? how is the weather on Kyiv today ? because, of course, you are the author of this... thing.
