These rats sniff out landmines that are filled with TNT. They are trained by a Dutch nongovernmental organization in Tanzania. Whenever they make positive detection they are rewarded with some food.
For more information about these little sniffers you can check out our recent article we published just several days ago in our daily stare column 'Rats to Nuts.’ Now we have more photos.
The famous proverb “A friend in need is a friend in deed” is not only about human friendship. We have paraphrased it, because it also refers to these two ducks that happened to swim in the same pond in Beaverton, Oregon (USA).
Melissa White dreamt about a micro pig that would become her little cute pet. On the day of purchase little Henry fitted in the palm of her hand, and the girl couldn’t even imagine what her micro pig would become in just one year.
This 10-day-old dolphin was injured by a fishing net and discovered near the Montevideo beach (Uruguay). There was no sign of the dolphin’s mother, so the mammal was lowered into a swimming pool at the NGO Rescate Fauna Marina centre. Local “resident”, the Magellan penguin, quickly became friends with a baby dolphin.
Beautiful black and white pictures with kitties and doggies playing and fooling around.
It will certainly raise your mood, especially for animal lovers.
These underwater sea creatures are both unusual and beautiful. It is hard to imagine that something so incredible could live and thrive underwater. Some have names you won’t be able to pronounce and some are very common.

When winter comes and it becomes harder to find the food, foxes try to hunt on anything they can. Even if it is a domestic cat that went out on a little stroll…
We would like to thank Ain for sending us this material.

This baby elephant was attacked by a crocodile in South Africa. It didn’t take long once the cries from the baby elephant were heard for a whole herd of elephants to come to the rescue. The leader of the charge was probably the female matriarch of the herd.
Animals and cars don’t mix, at least not in these photos of animals attacking cars. It doesn’t seem to matter what kind of animal it is, they all seem to hate cars. Maybe they are just playing like a kid with a new toy, but I wouldn’t want to be in the car.
And they do it the bear way, i.e. the "I destroy-everything" way…

How do you think, is it real or is it a plush toy?
The answer is inside the post.

In Tennessee, USA, on some farms you can find fainting goats. There is even the annual "Goats Music and More Festival" in Marshal County. Of course, there is a reason behind their name. The muscles of fainting goats freeze for roughly 10 seconds when the goat is startled.

If you didn’t know that, well, now you do.
To say that this girl loves animals is to say nothing at all. There is a real zoo in her apartment with more than 100 dangerous and not very dangerous animals!

Two guys were fishing in a boat somewhere in a peaceful distant place when they saw someone was swimming towards them...
Who could it be?

These are before and after plastic surgery photos of Moly, the Shar Pei. Apparently the poor doggy had some sort of disease the left her unable to see so plastic surgery was required. I think she looked better before the surgery, but it is important to be able to see.

These dogs look almost good enough to eat. They are all dressed up as different foods. They are also very funny Halloween costumes. They are a hamburger, fries, a donut, and the other white meat. I imagine they will get a lot of treats this holiday season.

A ticket machine at the Little Kimble Station (Buckinghamshire, England) started to malfunction... A repairman was sent there. He opened the machine and saw an unauthorized cashier.

All these wildlife photographs were taken under controlled conditions by 32-year-old British photographer Jonathan Griffiths who lives in Montana, USA.
See the UPDATE inside the post.
For the last six months this Russian fellow left his Staffordshire terrier in his car that he bought especially for the dog to keep him away from illegal dog fights. The man was divorced and didn’t have any place to keep the pooch. He feeds and walks the dog twice a day but no one knows how well the dog will do during one of Russia’s winters. Plus, it seems that the dog becomes more aggressive being locked up there all alone.
This is Beemer, a pet kangaroo who lives in Australia. His best friend is a cat, loves playing football and eats toast with salad. He is a rather large pet but his owners don’t seem to mind. I wonder if he gives boxing lessons in his spare time.
Sometimes, looking at monkeys, I start to believe that they are much alike many people.
As you have noticed, this tiger is different from those we used to see. This one is called a golden tabby tiger. It is a tiger with an extremely rare color variation, which is caused by a recessive gene and is normally found only in captive tigers. But it is not a separate species of tigers, it’s just a color form.
Golden tigers also tend to be larger and, due to the effect of the gene on the hair shaft, have softer fur than their orange relatives. There are currently believed to be fewer than 30 of these rare tigers in the world, but many more carry the gene.
Your efforts will pay off, especially when it’s your life that is at stake.

Normally HDR technique is used to approach reality in photos, however with HDR photos it is also usually the contrary, they give the impression that colors are artificial and don’t look natural at all. But these HDR photos of animals are some of the best ones I’ve seen. They do serve their primary goal and create the feeling of looking at the real-life objects and landscapes.
