There is some rather strange but very interesting military equipment hiding in the forests of Russia. Apparently, they are left over from some military action. It made a great day of discoveries for people who found all of this during their walk in the forest.
At least not until Osama Bin Laden was killed or captured. Gary Weddle made that promise after 9/11. He is one very stubborn man. He really had a really long beard until today.

On April 26th 1986 the Chernobyl nuclear power plant had a melt down that released deadly radioactive material into the atmosphere and the ground. These photos show the destruction wreaked on the plant, and how even 25 years later there is still unlivable amounts of radiation in the area.

There was a new fad with 14 to 20 year old Russian students several years ago after a computer game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was released. They imagined themselves in the role of the main character “Stalker” and what they did to “play” was to find an abandoned place, like shelter, go there, get drunk, take pictures of themselves, loot, steal, break, burn, then go home and download the pictures on the internet.
Here's a vivid example of their pastime. Inside the post you’ll see the comparative photos of a Moscow shelter which was fully functional some time ago and what it looks like now after some "young stalkers" came there.

There were some very funny faces on the figure skaters at the 2011 World Skating Championships. Apparently the stress of the competition makes the skaters look funny. Regardless of the reason they are hilarious.
