Tolerance and perseverance collide head on in these retro pictures of hardcore humans bearing incredibly heavy weights on their bodies. This practice has been around for ages and it does not look like the craze is fading anytime soon.

The world’s largest collection of high-quality, historically significant toys will be sold at auction at Sothebys until February 28th. It includes over 35,000 European and American manufactured toys that date back to the 1850’s. This is a lifetime collection from owner Jerry Greene.
