At 1 AM on April 26th, 1986, a power surge in reactor four of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Pripyat, Ukraine, led to a series of huge explosions. Recently HBO released a mini-series called “Chernobyl” and it’s already being called one of the greatest shows of recent years.

After more than 31 year since the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe the only living things in the vicinity are animals, and there’s plenty of those, as no human can harm them there.

On Saturday, April 26, 1986, a disaster occurred at Reactor No. 4 at the power plant is, which is considered to be the worst accident in the history of nuclear power in the world. Here is how the plant looks inside 30 years later.

30 years after the nuclear disaster, it’s the animals who rule Chernobyl now.

90 year old Ivan Shamyanok has been living for the last 30 years on the edge of the exclusion zone in Belarus. He and his wife refused to leave when they were offered to relocate after the explosion at Chernobyl. He's constantly checked by doctors who say that he's in good shape.

Welcome to Prypiat, the home of the largest nuclear disaster in history, in the wintertime. Prypiat was founded in 1970 to house the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant workers. 
It is obviously closed now and is very spooky looking. It is amazing that there are still trees and plants that still grow there.

You all heard about the Chernobyl tragedy, a nuclear accident that transformed the closest town of the power plant into a ghost town. If you ever played Call of Duty or STALKER then you definitely heard of it. The town is called Pripyat and little by little, it becomes a tourist attraction. 24 years after the explosion, people actually go visit this place. But the authorities decided to take this place to another level. Apparently, they want to turn the Zone of Alienation into a giant museum park. There is still a lot of radiation in there. I can already imagine a sign over an amusement park in Pripyat: “Welcome to the Pripyat Amusement Park, because it’s better to die with a smile”
