This rare photo of Earth was taken from NASA’s Cassini spacecraft that is currently orbiting Saturn. Earth appears as a small blue dot as it is taken from the outer solar system and is only visible when the camera is pointed towards the sun. This particular photo occurred during a total eclipse where the sun was blanked out by Saturn but provided enough light to keep Earth in view.
Thanks to the Kepler probe, these 10 planets have been discovered by scientists and are promising examples of “Super-Earths”.

The moon is not as close to Earth as you think.
Since 1972, Landsat satellites have collected images of the Earth’s land surface. These amazing pictures now reveal a visual story of how the land has changed over time as a result of natural and human interference. Each image spans a ground track of 115 miles (185 km’s) wide and the same area is recorded every 16 to 18 days.
