Looking at these photos of New Zealand after Saturday’s earthquake, I get chills down my spine. It must be horrible to live in Christchurch where people got approximately 300 temblors in just 5 days. Almost 100,000 houses were damaged. It’s a miracle that no one has been reported dead as the earthquake magnitude was 7.1. Local authorities announced a state of civil emergency for the next week.
New Zealand is located in the area where 2 tectonic plates collide. Every year the country faces more than 10,000 earthquakes, but only less than 10 leave such damage.
Time to leave. This is the name of this collection of amazing photos. I would call it “Pigeon Clock”. What about you?

These yearbook photos of celebrities prove that they age just like everyone else. For some, age made them better looking, for others not so much. All of this means that celebrities are human beings just like the rest of us.
Even though this collection of photos by Li Wei has some oldies of the day, it’s still awesome.
Amazing photographs that capture motion we can’t notice in reality. Photographer Harold Edgerton knows perfectly well how to extend our awareness of time.
The amazing photos were taken by Dr. Vaggelis Fragiadakis who is an amateur photographer, who was originally from Greece. The people in the black and white photos are mainly down on their luck. You can practically tell their life story by looking at their wrinkled faces.

Remember the post of yesterday about Jenny, a girl who quitted her job in a creative, original and daring way?
Well, as some of you mentioned it in the comments, it was nothing but another Internet hoax.
As entertaining as it was, nothing was true, the girl is just a Californian actress (at least, that's what she says..) named Elyse Porterfield.
I’ll let you discover more pics of her and her explanations in the following…
Here’s how this young girl quit her job sending these pictures to all her co-workers an her boss, of course. Bravo Jenny!
There is no doubt that retouching a photo of a celebrity will make them much more attractive. As the photos in this post show, many celebrities are not as perfect as we would like to believe and Photoshop can defiantly improve their looks.
The photos in this post are indeed some very rare photos of celebrities. Many of them were taken before they were well known. But even in the early days it is easy to see how most of them were destined for stardom.
These are the yearbook photos of some very famous US politicians. Some look much the same as they do today, others are not even recognizable. In this case there is no distinction of party lines.
Some people like to have fun by making bizarre faces on the camera. This collection is awesome. Just don’t get scared.
These retro photos of Paris are beautiful and amazing. They were taken in the beginning of the 20th century. They were black and white at first. But color was added to them later on.
These are spiritual photographs taken by William Hope (1863-1933). I wonder if they are for real. What if he simply used the very first version of Photoshop?
If you can’t translate something from one language into another one, better use the original phrase. Otherwise you will look hilarious just like these Asians who are wearing Engrish t-shirts.
Celebrities also have bad days. But paparazzi are always there hunting for famous people even on such days. Here is a collection of the most unflattering pictures of celebs.

An interesting compilation of retro pictures of Tour de France, a bicycle race that covers approximately 3,600 kilometers (2,200 mi) throughout France and bordering countries.
All these photographs show the construction of the Empire State Building. It is a 102-story skyscraper in New York City that is located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Only in 1972 when the North Tower of the World Trade Center was built, the Empire State Building was deposed as the world’s highest skyscraper.
