Photographer Eric Lafforgue doesn’t like taking casual photos that North Korean government wants the outer world to see. He traveled as a casual tourist, secretly taking pictures of the country’s everyday life. In 2012, however, because of these photos he was banned from entering North Korea forever.

By asking North Korean citizens two simple questions Associated Press photographer Wong Maye-E had found out how really brainwashed the local people are. These questions were “what's important to you?” and, “what's your life motto?” and the answers are speaking for themselves.

Joanna von Mruff’s dream to visit DPR has finally come true this September. The visited Pyongyang, DMZ, the Diamond Mountain and more. She says that it is not that bad everybody believes it to be there. She also explains that a lot of western tourists claim that it is “illegal” to take photos in North Korea almost everywhere when in really it is not like it.

Last Friday, August 12, 2016, the first ever beer festival kicked off in Pyongyang, North Korea which will last 20 days. 800 people visited the event on its first day. It was organized to promote Pyongyang's home brewed Taedonggang beer. Apparently, Kim Jong-un decided to arrange his personal Oktoberfest.
After visiting the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology in North Korea, former Google employee Will Scott purchased "Red Star 3," a North Korea's operating system. Here is what it is and what it's like to use a computer there.

Australian photographer Elliot Davis was part of the first ever group of foreigners given access to all stations across both lines of the Pyongyang Metro. It may sound as not a big deal, but before access to the Pyongyang Metro was restricted for foreigners, they could visit only 2 stations. The North Korean subway is quite different from all those you see in the US or France etc. Check it out.

An American tourist has visited North Korea recently telling the stories behind the photos and what he learned about the country. I find his story one of the most fascinating I ever had to read about North Korea and its capital Pyongyang.
