yes, it IS real. there are a few people who make and use these Tesla coils. although the music is from another source (not from the coils themselves) heres the Aussie site! http://tesladownunder.com/
I am sure all you you Physicists claiming that this is a fake are able to give a reason? Since as Tesla Coils are well known devices, and (having built one myself) knowing how they work, I see know reason to believe this is fake. Please give some supporting evidence to your claims.

Are the sounds real? I am no physicist, though I know about special effects and i am a little bit familiarized with Tesla, just know little about the Tesla coils.

Heh why not have the guy in there, like think of it, that is the closest to being the Emperor or Vader with the lighting flying everywhere who cares if it's fake or not
creating sound through tesla coils is common there's tons of youtube videos and they have them at big raves sometimes. He isn't shocked because he is in a faraday cage.
"The music that you hear is coming from the sparks that these two identical high power solid state Tesla coils are generating. There are no speakers involved. The Tesla coils stand 7 feet tall and are each capable of putting out over 12 foot of spark. They are spaced about 18 feet apart. The coils are controlled over a fiber optic link by a single laptop computer. Each coil is assigned to a midi channel which it responds to by playing notes that are programed into the computer software. What is not obvious is how loud the coils are. They are well over 110dB. Listen for the echo after the notes stop. These coils were constructed by Steve Ward and Jeff Larson. Programming and musical content by Steve Ward. Video was captured by Terry Blake and edited by Jeff Larson."

The man is useless.
The sound is made by changing the frequency in the coil and the sound is the discharge. Think of it as very fine tuned thunder.
There is another thing like this with the mario theme song.
